Ballia shootout: Main accused Dhirendra arrested in Lucknow, two accomplices also arrested
Dhirendra Pratap Singh, the main accused in the Ballia firing, was arrested by the Lucknow unit of UP STF from near the polytechnic intersection on Sunday morning. A reward of 50 thousand rupees was announced on behalf of DIG Azamgarh on Dhirendra. IG STF Amitabh Yash said that Dhirendra Pratap was reported to be hiding in Lucknow. After this, the team of STF was activated. Dhirendra told the STF that on October 15, about 2000 people gathered in a panchayat called for a ration shop. In this, one side was of Dhirendra and the other side was of Krishna Kumar Yadav.
During the panchayat, Krishna Kumar Yadav and his associates got upset. Meanwhile, the opposition opened fire, injuring his nephew Golu Singh and 5-6 women. Golu Singh later died. In response, firing was done from Dhirendra’s side in which Jai Prakash Pal died. A case was filed against eight named people and unknown in this case.

Meanwhile, ADG law and order Prashant Kumar said that five of the eight people named in the case have been arrested. Apart from this, 5 other people who came to light have been arrested. Prashant Kumar said that soon other people will be arrested in this case.

On Thursday, an open meeting was held at around 3:30 pm for the selection of quota shops of Hanumanganj and Durjanpur in the Panchayat Bhawan of Durjanpur village under Revati police station area of Ballia district. Four women groups applied for it. Voting for the shop of Durjanpur took place between mother Shair Jagdamba and Shiv Shakti self-help group.
On this, SDM Suresh Kumar Pal, CO Chandrakesh Singh and SO Praveen Kumar Singh made arrangements that only those who have an Aadhar card or any other identity card will be able to vote. People from one side brought the Aadhar card. People on the other side did not have an identity card.
There was an uproar on this matter. Seeing the situation worsening, BDO Bairia Gajendra Pratap Singh adjourned the proceedings of the meeting. After this, there was a tension between the two sides. Slogans were raised against the administration. On seeing it, brick and stone started moving. According to eyewitnesses, Dhirendra fired during this period. Jaiprakash Pal (45), a resident of Durjanpur, received four bullets. People rushed Jayaprakash to CHC Sonbarsa, where doctors declared him dead.
Apart from this, Narendra Singh (45), Aradhana Singh (45), Asha Singh (40), Rajendra Singh (45), Ajay Singh (50) and Dharmendra Singh (40) were seriously injured by brick stones and sticks. . Apart from SDM, CO, 11 policemen present on the spot were suspended. A case was registered against eight nominees and 25 unknowns, including Dhirendra, in the case.
