China fueled by US Secretary of State’s visit to India, said they are splitting neighbours
China has on Tuesday blamed US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo for its visit to India, accusing it of creating discord with neighboring countries. The US Secretary of State held a high-level meeting in New Delhi with bilateral defense and strategic relations at the center.
Pompeo on Monday with Defense Minister Mark T. Asper on Monday talks with India for the third round of 2 + 2 with its Indian counterpart Foreign Minister S.K. Jaishankar and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh arrived in New Delhi on Monday to do so.
Pompeo will also travel to Sri Lanka and Maldives after his India tour. The US Secretary of State, while supporting India, referred to the incident of Indian soldiers martyred in a violent clash with the Chinese People’s Liberation Army in Galvan, East Ladakh in June.
In a joint statement after 2 + 2 ministerial level talks between India and the US, Pompeo said – “In honor of the Indian soldiers who sacrificed for the defense of the world’s largest democracy, including 20 soldiers who died in the Galvan violence. Visited the Memorial. America will stand with India as they face threats to their sovereignty, independence. ”
China’s foreign ministry was questioned in Beijing, particularly about Mike Pompeo’s remarks, in which Pompeo had previously stated that he would focus on threats from China.
In response, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin did not mention India, but attacked Pompeo with anti-China statements. Wang said- “Pompeo’s anti-China accusations and attacks are nothing.”
