Under the Employees State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), the way has been opened for the unemployed allowance to the insured employees. The government has announced unemployment allowance under ESIC to those who have lost their jobs during this epidemic from 24 March 2020 to 31 December 2020. The good thing is that even if you have got a job, this allowance can be claimed.

According to the government’s plan, workers registered with ESIC will benefit under the Atal Bimit Vyakti Kalyan Yojana. In the meeting of the Employees State Insurance Corporation on 20 August 2020, it has been decided to extend the Atal Insured Person Welfare Scheme from one year period i.e. from 1 July 2020 to 30 June 2021. According to the plan, 50 percent of the salary will be given as unemployment allowance to the employees whose job was left during the lockdown. ESIC has also decided to create a separate fund of 44 thousand crore rupees for this.

How to apply for unemployment allowance
For all the employees who want to take advantage of this scheme, it is not necessary to submit a claim on behalf of the employer, earlier the claim could have been submitted through the employer, but this time the condition has been removed. The insured person has to go and submit all the documents himself or a claim written in an affidavit on a non-judicial stamp paper of Rs 20 can also be sent through speed post. The person will have to send or submit the hard copy of the claim, along with the photocopy of the Aadhaar and passbook / copy of the cancellation check directly to the branch office. It will take 15 days to complete the paperwork of the insured person and send money to the account. Terms for getting unemployment allowance easy
An insured person who has lost his job on or after 24-03-2020 and who fulfills all the necessary eligibility conditions, such as must be in insurable employment for a minimum period of two years immediately before unemployment. Must have contributed at least 78 days in the contribution period and a minimum of 78 days in one of the remaining three contribution periods in the two years preceding his unemployment.
